Kansas City Southern (KCS) is an international transportation holding company comprised of three primary railroads: The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KSCR), Kansas City Southern de Mexico (KCSM) and Panama Canal Railway Company (PCRC),. KCRS provides a vital link in the utility supply with daily coal train service between interchanging railroads and eight power-generating locations in the Midwest and South Central United States. KCSR and KCSM provides service by moving numerous commodities for paper mills, steel plants, automotive plants, chemical and petroleum companies as well as the food industry. Intermodal service is also provided to and from Lazaro Cardenas to Meridian, Mississippi with continuing service to eastern destinations on Norfolk Southern. KCSR provides premium intermodal service to customers on the "Meridian Speedway" line from Dallas to Meridian - the most direct and least-congested transcontinental line in the United States.
